Legendary Chicago bassist Bob Stroger will be returning for round 2 at the Evanston Starlight Concert Series on July 21st in Dawes Park!
In 1955 the Stroger family left Missouri for the Windy City, finding themselves a home on the west side that just so happened to be attached to a nightclub that housed legendary acts such as Muddy Waters and Howling Wolf. From there on out Bob had made a decision..."It looked like they were having a lot of fun and I made up my mind that what I wanted to do was play music." With the help of his cousin Ralph Ramey and brother John, within 4 months Bob's music career had taken off. The trio started by playing at various upscale clubs around the city and eventually were encouraged to travel. As Bob says "the rest was history... I've been playing for 39 years and I'm still having fun."
Come on down to Dawes Park on July 21st @ 7:30 pm to see Mr. Stroger crank out some classic Chicago blues.
